Open Position: Key Account Manager

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced and ambitious (Key) Account Manager to strengthen our sales organization, serving both the Benelux region and international markets. The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge, experience, and a strong network within the horticulture industry. You understand market dynamics and anticipate changes, recognize customer needs and proactively contribute solutions, are highly driven, and build long-term relationships. You are able to understand our customers’ requirements and translate them into appropriate technical solutions. With your consultative sales skills, you can manage complex, long-term sales cycles and advise customers on technical lighting solutions (project sales), enabling both our customers and our organization to achieve sustainable growth and success.

 

Your responsibilities

Make a significant contribution to the sales organization by managing and expanding key accounts. Take responsibility for strategy, revenue, and profitability within the countries and territories assigned to you, while working in a structured and planned manner. Develop and maintain a personal network within your sales territory and represent the organization at trade fairs and other events to identify sales opportunities, promote the company, and strengthen its reputation. Ensure customer information is accurately recorded and maintained in the CRM system, keeping all data up to date at all times. Foster excellent collaboration with customers, partners, and both national and international colleagues; this is a key aspect and requirement of the role. Build trust through honesty, integrity, and authenticity, consistently honoring commitments and agreements despite competing priorities. Geographic responsibilities will be determined in consultation. You are only satisfied when the customer is satisfied.

 

Your qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (HBO level), preferably in a technical or agricultural field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a national or international commercial role within the horticulture industry.
  • A natural networker and professional with both strategic and operational capabilities.
  • Proven ability to build formal and informal relationship networks both inside and outside the organization.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a demonstrated track record of successfully closing deals.
  • A true team player who thrives in a fast-changing environment.
    Detail-oriented and well-organized, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in export sales and fluency in both Dutch and English.
  • Highly flexible and accustomed to regular travel.
  • Experience with CRM systems is an advantage.

In a full-time position, you will work 38 hours per week and finish work at 3:00 PM every Friday. The employment terms are governed by the Technical Wholesale Collective Labor Agreement (CAO Technische Groothandel).

 

Your primary work location will be our headquarters in Oude Meer, the Netherlands.
