At his last visit to Norway, our owner and CEO\u00a0Marc Salvany<\/a>\u00a0had the pleasure of visiting a very interesting grower in Lier: Linnes G\u00e5rd, together with our Nordic sales team members Vidar Nordby and Anette De Lange. At Linnes G\u00e5rd they grow lettuce and edible flowers. The operation is run by Terje and Ragnhild N\u00e6rstad together with their daughter Anne Eline, the fifth generation in this family-run business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From HPS to Hybrid to Full LED<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Linnes G\u00e5rd began in 2018 with HPS lighting that supported early growth and year round cultivation. As energy efficiency and climate control became increasingly important, they took the next step in 2024 by introducing a hybrid lighting setup, combining HPS with our LED luminaire WEGA Eco<\/a>. In 2025 they built a new hi-tech greenhouse and decided to go for a full LED solution with Agrolux WEGA Plus<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learning curve<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Moving to full LED meant rethinking familiar grow strategies. With HPS you also have a source for heat and when you go for full LED you need to compensate with other heat sources. Plant response, climate balance, temperature and daily routines all needed closer observation. Rather than seeing this as a setback, the team at Linnes G\u00e5rd embraced the process as part of their development as growers. By continuously adjusting light recipes and aligning them with crop needs, Linnes G\u00e5rd is steadily optimizing results crop by crop. Of course they can count on the expert advice of our Vidar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Young Grower Award<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

That curiosity and willingness to challenge convention is characteristic of the next generation now shaping the business. In 2025, Anne Eline N\u00e6rstad received the Ungspireprisen (Young Grower Award)<\/a> from the Norwegian Growers Association (NGF)<\/a>, honoring her forward looking approach, technical curiosity, and contribution to a more sustainable future for Norwegian horticulture.
The jury described her as \u201ca role model for a new generation of growers who dare to think big, green, and future oriented.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lighting is never viewed in isolation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At Linnes G\u00e5rd, lighting is never viewed in isolation. It is one piece of a larger eco system where all elements influence plant health and quality of produce.
