Een hogere opbrengst is voor de meeste telers de belangrijkste reden om te investeren in LED (of HPS). Bij tomaten geldt als vuistregel: 1% meer licht = 1% meer opbrengst. Hoewel dit in grote lijnen klopt, is er meer nuance. We zullen dit in de volgende artikelen vanuit verschillende perspectieven verder toelichten. In dit artikel richten we ons op het spectrum.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Planten gebruiken licht voor fotosynthese om assimilaten te produceren, die ze vervolgens in hun groei kunnen investeren. LED-verlichting maakt gebruik van grofweg vier lichtkleuren: blauw, groen\/wit, rood en verrood. We zullen ons richten op de eerste drie kleuren, omdat deze deel uitmaken van PAR-licht, oftewel fotosynthetisch actieve straling. Dit betekent dat planten dit licht direct kunnen gebruiken voor fotosynthese. De verschillende kleuren zijn echter niet allemaal even effici\u00ebnt voor fotosynthese.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>De McCree-curve beschrijft het <strong>kwantumrendement van fotosynthese<\/strong> op verschillende golflengten. Als we ons richten op de 3 PAR-lichtkleuren, zien we dat planten rood licht het meest effici\u00ebnt kunnen gebruiken, vervolgens groen en dan blauw. Het gezegde &quot;1% meer licht = 1% meer groei&quot; is gebaseerd op een gebalanceerd lichtrecept, met bijvoorbeeld 90% rood, 5% blauw en 5% groen. Dus waarom gebruiken we niet puur rood licht? Laten we eens kijken naar elke kleur en het doel ervan.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Rood: De belangrijkste kleur voor effici\u00ebnte fotosynthese en dus groei.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Blauw: Blauw licht is een &quot;signaalkleur&quot; voor planten, wat betekent dat het hun groei be\u00efnvloedt. Hoe meer blauw licht er is, hoe compacter de plant groeit.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Groen: Deze kleur werd aanvankelijk niet veel gebruikt in assimilatieverlichting, maar wordt nu vooral toegevoegd omdat mensen het nodig hebben om goed te kunnen zien in kassen met alleen ledverlichting. Wanneer er HPS-lampen aanwezig zijn, of voldoende daglicht, is het groene deel niet nodig.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Alle kleuren (binnen het PAR-spectrum) hebben dus hun functie en dragen allemaal bij aan
